The Men’s Committee intends to continue the positive initiatives started last year in relation to encouraging a brisk pace of play. However course etiquette involves more than just pace of play. It also applies in relation to how members use timesheets as well as many other aspects.
It has come to the attention of the Men’s Committee that there has been a high number of late cancellations on recent time-sheets. This has given rise to complaints from a number of Members who have been left ‘stranded’ on a line without any prior notice.
Whereas the Committee acknowledge that there has to be a certain amount of flexibility in allowing Members to withdraw from a line in genuine circumstances it would appear there are Members who are regularly withdrawing from the time-sheets with minimal notice. This is considered to be bad etiquette.
The Committee is now monitoring the situation and would call on Members to be considerate of others when withdrawing from time-sheets.
